Our Mission

Our mission is to fundraise for Chinese orphans in a variety of ways– whether this is through funding a child’s education or supporting a foster family with 3-5 children. We seek to aid these children by hosting a variety of fundraisers. We also seek to bring awareness to the current orphan situation in China.

China’s orphan situation is rarely talked about, but it has become a larger problem where there are more than 700,000 orphans, as of 2010, in China. Many of these orphans are abandoned by their parents because of a medical problem which their parents are not able to afford. It is assumed that parents believe leaving their children in the hands of others will give them a better life. However, many times, these orphans can’t afford to receive the surgery that they need and have a hard time being adopted because of the medical problems that they have. China Care’s goal is to be able to help fund these surgeries, so that these children will be able to live healthy lives.

We not only focus on bringing joy to the orphans in China, but we also want to work with the adopted children in our St. Louis community. To do this, we volunteer for the local FCC (Families with Children from China) with our special Dumplings Playgroup events. During these meetings, we mentor adorable adopted Chinese kids and teach them about their Chinese culture in general. More importantly, we serve as positive role models for these children.
